MEANING IN THE WEAVE
NAGA, the Magical Water Serpent is the most powerful protection symbol and represents female energy.
In this textile it is called NGUU NORN HAANG, Serpents Sleeping Apart. The DIAMOND can represent fertility or a lantern which lights the way on the shaman’s journey to the afterworld. It is also used as a focus for meditation and referred to as ‘The Sacred Eye.’ Explore more symbology here.
WEAVER’S NOTES
The Naga Runner was handwoven for you by Mrs Malayvone of the Taileu Tribe. It’s been woven in the KHIT method, which means that the pattern is reversible. Variations in the weave are part of the handmade vibe. Natural dyes will patina over time.
